Family friendly resort – paradise in the Florida Keys.
Bakers Cay Resort is a Curio Collection by Hilton is our happy place and favorite resort in the U.S.! We discovered this beachside paradise in 2020 during the pandemic. We loved it so much, we came back 3 times in one year (5 in total)! Here’s why we love this family friendly resort so much.

Table of Contents
Unlimited Activities
Every day there are FREE or should I say “included” activities starting in the morning through the night. Fun for all ages! Here are some of our favorite Baker’s Cay Resort activities:
Free Fishing
Our kid’s favorite is the free fishing that is available everyday off the large pier. Just head down in the morning and grab your rod and bucket of shrimp.
We’ve caught lots of Grunt fish, and Snappers on that dock – always catch and release. Keep your eyes open for dolphin, manatees, nurse sharks, and rays. We’ve seen them all there!

Movie Nights
After sunset on Friday’s, head over to the hammock lawn also known as Ben’s Garden for a movie night under the stars. Popcorn and candy are provided – literally all you can eat!
The staff inflates, inflatable hammocks for the kids to sit in. This last trip was the start of Shark Week and there was a bonus movie on the beach, under the stars and shark floaties for the kids to sit on.

Unlimited Paddle Boards and Kayaks
Most resorts will charge you to rent a paddle board or kayak. Not at Bakers Cay Resort, these are available to everyone to use at their beach. Head out in the morning to paddle and see sea life before it gets too busy.

Foam Party
10am foam party. Yes you read that right, foam party on the lawn! The kids love it (adults too) and the music is jamming. It’s happens every Wednesday and Friday.

Smores on the Beach
Around 7pm on Saturday, the Cay Team passes out smores kit and skewers so you can make your own smores on the beach, while the sun is setting in the background.

Beach
The Florida Keys are not known for their beaches but Baker’s Cay has a great one. Calm, always flat and shallow waters which are great for snorkeling.
The beach has ample chaise lounge chairs and a tiki bar where you can order drinks and food from. In addition to the free to use paddle boards and kayaks, there are also multiple floating mats in the water.

Down the hammocks Mangroves forest, you’ll find more private beaches that are hidden in the Mangroves and trees. A more secluded spot with great views, also fully equipped with lounge chairs and hammocks.

Snorkeling
With glassy, shallow waters, the resort offers the most ideal snorkeling conditions. During our visits we’ve found starfish, sea horses, horseshoe crabs, sea snails, pipefish, sea urchin, rays, and of course lots of fish and coral. Make sure to bring your snorkel masks.

Baker’s Cay Resort Rooms
Over 200 newly designed rooms split up into two wings: Coconut Wing vs Hammock Wing. All rooms are clean, modern, and nature inspired.
We’d recommend always getting the waterfront view. The Coconut Wing rooms waterfront rooms are the best. If you don’t pay the extra, you might be looking at the parking lot.
Hammock view rooms have views of the lush wood and mangrove forest. There are also waterfront views in the Hammock Wing.

Sunset Hour
Sunsets at Bakers Cay resort are unreal. You have a view of the sunset from all over the resort. Another perk is they provide Sparkling Rose’ to all guests at sunset hour. Grab a glass and head out on the pier to watch the sun drop over the water.
Book the Sunset Tiki Boat for a 2 hour excursion during sunset with drinks included!

Bakers Cay Private Pergola
For my husbands 40th birthday we booked the private pergola for the day and, oh my gosh it was so worth it! It’s nestled in the hammock forest in the mangroves overlooking the Florida bay. It came with a tray full of fresh fruit (even pink pineapple), including an adorable melon carved bear the kids loved.

You have a dedicated server you can order drinks and food from all day. We spent a lot of the day snorkeling and relaxing. There was the perfect amount of sun and shade over the pergola, before we had to call it a day.

Does Baker’s Cay Resort have a pool?
There are 2 pools with waterfalls at Bakers Cay. One is adults only, and the other for families. There is also a hot tub, and a pool bar where you can order drinks and food.

Baker’s Cay Restaurants & Dining
There’s 2 restaurants on property.
Calusa
Calusa is on the 3rd floor overlooking the Mangroves with water views and the most beautiful look at the sunset.
It’s open for breakfast and dinner and is the more upscale option of the two restaurants. Get the Curry Red Snapper, I’ve ordered it twice now, exquisite.

Dry Rocks
Serving mexican influenced breakfast, lunch, and dinner – Dry Rocks is the more casual option with lots of outdoor seating overlooking the beach with live music.
There’s also indoor seating and a great bar. They have a great tequila selection (including their own exclusive variety by Patron), with different tasting options.
Try the lobster and shrimp nachos or their cheese crusted quesadillas. Great wings too!

Tiki Bar
At the beach you can order food from the Tiki Bar. Food comes from Dry Rocks but it’s a limited menu. I like to get the fish dip that comes with lots of fresh veggies. The pool also has food options available.

Is Baker’s Cay a dog friendly resort?
Another reason to love this resort is that its dog friendly. Baker’s Cay Resort pet policy says, “Yes, we are a pet-friendly hotel and allow pets in-room and around the property. There is a $75 per night non-refundable fee applied to your stay which covers up to 2 pets. Max weight 100 lbs.”
Does Bakers Cay Resort offer a day pass?
If you want to experience Bakers Cay beach, pool and dinning you can purchase a day pass.
Lock it up!
Don’t forget a padlock for the resort’s Love Lock Arch located in the hammocks. Its covered in love locks for those just married or one’s like us celebrating a big day.
