Getting There
How long is the drive from Denver to Breckenridge?
It’s only about 2 hour drive from the Denver airport (DIA) or driving from the city is an 1 1/2 hour. When comparing rental cars vs mountain shuttles, it was a few hundred dollars cheaper for us to rent a car. I recommend price both options to see what works for you. We also like the convenience of having a car if we need to – used it a few times to hit the grocery store, hop around town, and see the famous Breckenridge Troll.
The drive into Breckenridge is scenic and beautiful! Living in florida we don’t even have hills, let alone mountains. If you’re not used to driving through mountains take it SLOW, especially if it’s snowing or icy.

PSA: If you rent a car as a family of 4 and have lots of luggage, do not book a compact SUV. Our car rental gave us a micro machine and barely fit – LOL! Literally squeezed in. It was the last car left (another tip: book your rental way in advance).

Beaver Run parking costs $36/night during peak ski season. During summer and fall it drops down to $10 a night.
The Location
Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center is perfect as it’s ski in and ski out, located at the base of Peak 9. Plus, it’s short 10 min walk to Main Street where all the shopping and oodles of restaurants reside.
Address: 620 Village Rd, Breckenridge, CO 80424

The Rooms
Beaver Run Resort has 515 individually-owned slopeside guest accommodations that range from hotel rooms, studios, one and two bedroom condominiums to large executive suites (sleeps up to 14 people!).

We stayed in a one bedroom suite. It a great size for our family of 4. The room included a king size bedroom, full kitchen, pull out sleeper sofa, and dining area. The rooms and hotel are dated as the hotel was built in 1978, however it worked for us. It felt rustic and much different to the South Florida vibes we’re used to.

Each room has a wood burning fireplace with fire starters and unlimited supply of wood. If you need more you just call the front desk! Our room also had a balcony overlooking the beautiful mountains.
Beaver Run Resort Amenities
One of the things we love about this resort is there’s so much to do! They have amenities that offer convenience and make your life easier on vacation but also fun activities to keep you busy.
Ski-in Ski-out
Beaver Run is one of the few ski-in ski-out resorts in Breckenridge, it’s located right by 2 ski lifts: Beaver Run Superchair & Quicksilver Super 6 (our favorite lift because its all greens for the kids). Ski lockers are also available, its such a nice thing to have. No need to lug your wet gear up to your room each day.

Need ski rentals? Breck Sports ski rentals is located in the building. If you’re staying at Beaver Run Resort you can save 20% off your rentals (woo!).

Ski School
If you’re looking for ski school, it’s also conveniently located right at the resort for kids and adults. After one full day of ski school, we couldn’t believe how quick our Florida kids picked it up. We used and recommend Breckenridge Ski School.

Pool & Hot Tubs

Beaver Run not only has outdoor hot tubs with mountain views, they have 9 of them! It’s a perfect way to wind down after skiing and apres ski. You can find them in building 3 and 4.

The resort also offers 2 pools. A large heated indoor/outdoor pool is located in building 3, you can actually swim under if you dare go outside in the cold. There’s a convenient bar (Pub at the Hub) available on the pool hot tub level of building 3. Another outdoor pool in building 4.
Sauna & Steam Room
Located inside building 3, along with the indoor pool you can find a sauna and a steam room. Perfect spot to warm up after the slopes.
Arcade & Mini Golf

When your family is not skiing or going out to Main Street and you need indoor things to do, this arcade and game area is a lifesaver. There’s over 20 arcade games that offer tickets you can put towards prizes.
In the same area is a few holes of mini golf, air hockey and a giant floor size chess board. This is all located in the Hub, building 3.

Free Rides to Main Street
No car? No problem. In peak season the resort offers free bus shuttles to and from the village. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a ride. They took us to and from dinner most nights when we headed out to Main Street.

Apres Ski

Copper top Bar & Grill is a great spot to land after your day of skiing for Apres Ski. It faces the mountain with great views, a massive fire pit, beer truck and a good music. You can order food and more drinks inside. During our trip they had someone grilling food outdoors and a DJ spinning music.

Spa at Beaver Run
Looking for some relaxation? The Spa at Beaver Run offers massage treatments and facials. You must book a reservation in advance.
Fitness Center
I consider skiing a major workout, but if you want more ways to burn calories, there’s a fitness center located in building 3 near the pool and sauna.
Where to Eat
Beaver Run Resorts has multiple food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Skywalk Deli & Market: Great for grab & go breakfast, lunch & dinner. They also have groceries to stock your room, medicine and gifts.

- Spencer’s Steaks & Spirits: The nicest of restaurants available, it’s sit down breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kids 8 and under can eat free breakfast with the purchase of an adult meal! They offer breakfast and lunch buffet too.
- Coppertop Bar + Restaurant: overlooking peak 9, this is a great spot for apres all day. It’s on the 2nd story of the building with great views for watching skiing. If it’s warm enough the large scenic windows will be open.

- Base Nine Bar: open until 11pm, this is a cozy bar with pool tables, darts, and more games like giant connect 4. Great happy hour specials like $3 beers from 3-5pm. It looks like they even have a karaoke set up.

- The Beaver Den Food Court: Your ski-in, ski-out spot for snacks, hot cocoa and a quick lunch in Breckenridge. Located at Peak 9, at the base of Beaver Run Resort, just below Coppertop Bar.
- Pub at the Hub Bar: is conveniently outside of the pool, hot tubs and arcade. It small with only 10 bar stools but a great place to grab a drink as you’re enjoying the amenities.
