Delray Beach Hidden Gem: Girls Strawberry Farm & Petting Zoo

Looking for a strawberry picking near me? How about a strawberry farm that makes pizza, ice cream, and has a petting zoo! One of our kid’s favorite things to do in Delray Beach, FL is go to the Girls Strawberry Farm, aka “Girls Market”.

This place has it all. When you pull up to this hidden gem, it’s in an old school Florida shopping center, you’d never expect what lies ahead!

Once you walk through the doors you’re transported in time to an old fashion candy story. Black and white checkered floor, floor to ceiling nostalgic candy, and fresh homemade ice cream and shakes.

The grounds behind the entrance are tropical and beautiful. You’ll feel transported as soon as you get through the doors, and forget you’re in the middle of a very busy area of Delray Beach.

What Girls Market is most known for is their strawberry farm where you can pick your own! Strawberry season is usually from December to April. There are rows and rows of plants to pick from and pay by weight. Other produce is available throughout the year like like green beans, peppers, and cherry tomatoes.

Petting Zoo

One of the most surprising things you’ll find at Girls Market is a petting zoo. And I’m not talking about just horses, goats, and bunnies. YES, they have that as well, but they also have donkey’s, exotic birds, pigs, turtles, snakes, lemurs, and even a hedge hog. Our favorite is an adorable fennec fox named Tobi. He loved to play with the kids, he was running back and forth in his cage like it was a game of tag.

Our highlight is feeding the parakeets. Make sure to purchase a stick of seeds, and watch the birds fly down and land right on you to eat from it. The sticks are less than $5 and they last a very long time. Lots of the birds here are rescued. There are parrots, macaws, chickens, peacocks, swans, and more.

You’ll find fun and eclectic statues throughout the gardens and petting zoo like dinosaurs, gorillas, and even a massive squirrel. After feeding the animals, the kids loved the gem mining station. Purchase a bag of sand and sift away the dirt to find gems, maybe sharks teeth, and fossils. Right next to that is a rubber duck water racing station.

Donkey’s were lucky to share their home with a Velociraptor.

Bambini’s Pizza Garden

Girls Market is connected to a pizza restaurant called Bambinis. They’ve expanded out back to include more seating and a large brick pizza oven too.
