We’ve been to Siesta Key many times and have the ultimate list of 27 best Siesta Key Restaurants to visit in 2022. Our guide includes the best siesta key Italian restaurants and where to get breakfast before you hit the beach. Plus where in siesta key to eat on the water and the best bars for nightlife.

Siesta Key Oyster Bar

The Best Siesta Key Restaurants

1. SKOB

Let it reign supreme. Not because of the eats, and the drinks, but because of the vibes. This is the Village in a nutshell. You come to wet your whistle, taste some seafood, shoot some oysters, and listen to some roots, rock, reggae. Staple some dollars on the wall too, it’s your return ticket, to come back and be sure that it still hangs just where you left it.

2. The Cottage

This is at the top of the recommendation list too, especially for a laid-back dinner with friends or family. Cozy inside, great local, live music outside in the courtyard. Usually, the local gig player will take requests as well, always a hit with the kids. Awesome Billionaire Burger, and Black Grouper, along with just about every single other menu item. Bartenders come up with some lively drinks as well. Look into reservations here!

3. Siesta Key Summer House Steak & Seafood

We for one, have never visited. Just hasn’t fit into the plans, for whatever reason, but this is the best place to find yourselves a Prime steak on the key, if the craving calls. Wonderful aquariums that will keep the kids entertained as the dinner plays out too.

4. Lobster Pot

Lob, Lob, Lob, all the claw you could want. Cutest little hole in the wall too, a ton of charm.

5. Island House Tap & Grill

Craft beer and food with some intent behind it. Tacos, bowls, burgers, down to duck fat fries. Very unassuming, and almost hidden gem. But easily findable, if you have your Yelp radar up, looking for can’t miss, good food, and local beer.

6. Daiquiri Deck

Brain freeze warning, ahead. It will happen. This is the frozen drink Mecca. That’s it, that’s all. They have food, which is fine, but it’s the 20+ assorted varieties of frozen cures that are constantly in rotation. They also have two other locations, one at the south end of the Key, and another in St. Armand’s Circle.

7. The Hub Baja Grill

Seems to be the only place to satisfy your chips and salsa, and heat craving within the Key. The food delivers decent quality, but as I said, sometimes you just need an environment for a tequila shot, and nachos. This is your spot.

8. Big Olaf

The local creamery, don’t be fooled for any substitutes when in the village. You must hit the OG, no matter how long the line is. The ice cream is deserving of whatever wait sits in front of you. Kids will love the bubble gum flavor ice cream, adults will love all the variety of fresh cones, and homemade fudge as well!

9. Old Salty Dog

If you want to scamper, ever so slightly off the beaten village path, take a quarter mile walk north just out of the village, and you’ll find this old well. Feels like a dive, and an old landmark, stuck in a never-changing way. Plenty of deep fried food of course, and ice cold beer.

10. 3.14 Pi Craft Beer & Spirits

Great, easy pizza.  Very much a humble and easy going atmosphere here, with plenty of local craft beers to choose from.  Not much to speak of on the inside, but plenty of outside seating.  Easy to walk in and walk out with your pie on the go too.

11. Café Gabbiano

Brings Italy to Siesta Key – fresh-made pastas, steak, and fish. It’s casual fine dining with a cozy interior. Everything is made fresh to order. Try the branzino fish filleted table side and the lobster ravioli. The wine list is extensive and good.

12. Flavio’s Brick Oven & Bar

The best place to get pizza on the key is Flavio’s. The Neapolitan pizza is cooked in a brick oven that delivers a crunchy yet chewy crust. They also craft pastas and authentic Italian fish and meat entrees.

The Best Siesta Key Breakfast

13. Sun Garden Café

This is our personal favorite breakfast spot, plus they do lunch. This might stand as the freshest, made to order menu, that is discoverable on the Key. Max’s Biscuit, and the Charleston Grits (w/ Pecorino cheese), both will have you thinking your somewhere lost in Low Country. Excellent service too.

14. Another Broken Egg Cafe

Any college basketball fans out there, baby?! Dick Vitale regularly makes this his home away from home. His favorite morning coffee spot, when not calling the big game for ESPN. Come check it for your own eyes, I think they even sell his autographed book. Phenomenal breakfast and coffee too, by the way obviously.

15. Meaney’s Donuts

Another place, WORTH the wait. Made to order mini donuts in the morning. With some other goodies too, and fresh coffee for the adults. Melt in your mouth goodness though with the donuts, and qualifies as an easy breakfast, and you can keep on, right on your way to the beach, bag o donuts in hand.

16. Village Café

Nice spot for causal breakfast with the normal breakfast staples made well. They also have unique options like the unforgettable cinnamon roll French toast and Nutella donuts! So good. Has indoor and outdoor dining. The patio is dog friendly!

17. Mojo Risin Coffee Co

Quality cups of Joe here, along with breakfast breads, and even smoothie bowls.  Feast on some quality local art too, inside the shop while you wait for your fresh drip to be brewed.  Just a super fun place to wake and stroll into.

Restaurants in Siesta Key on the water

18. Ophelia’s on the Bay

Voted best waterfront restaurant in Sarasota multiple years in a row. It’s a Seafood restaurant with floor to ceiling windows of the outdoor patio and waterfront. Try the Jumbo Lump Blue Crab cakes.

19. Spearfish Grille

Still on the key but just a little south by the bridge. Amazing seafood. They have fresh catches like wahoo, swordfish, hogfish and cobia.

20. Casey Key Fish House

Boatyard Waterfront Bar and Grill are other great restaurants in Siesta Key on the water.

Siesta Key Bars & Restaurants

21. My Village Pub (MVP)

A typical sports bar in case you have a big game tipping off that night. Enough TVs to surely provide you a screen to watch, and all the common pub food to help with the mood, win or lose.

22. The Beach Club

This is your late-night watering hole, and even almost club-like at times, when you want to feel less like your steps from a sandy, tropical oasis. You might find yourself some hip hop playing, some EDM, or a live band. Awkwardly placed pool tables are there, if you just have to run some game.

23. Gilligan’s Island Bar & Grill

Serving everything from breakfast to dinner, this place will have you feeling like you shipwrecked, but in the best possible landing location.  Plenty of tropical drinks to keep you afloat.  Tiki drinks, where you can leave with the tiki cup, just don’t drop it on the way out.  All the seafood and handhelds you can imagine too, at a beach bar.

Restaurants near Siesta Key

If you’re up for a little drive these are also great spots:

Columbia

24. Owens Fish Camp

This eclectic fish camp is bringing in the Bay’s local fish every day, serving it with Southern Classics it’s amazing. Deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, spicy collard greens, I could eat just a plate full of sides! They have live music, great beer selection and even a tire swing out back.

25. Demetrios

Best Greek pizza you will find anywhere. And Greek pizza is a hard thing to come by these days, it’s almost a lost art. This is not on the Key, it’s a short drive over the bridge to Tamiami Trail. Get the Greek Salad obviously, garlic bread, and all the Greek pizza you can squeeze in, and call it a day. Even order a pop in one of those stereotype red plastic pizza joint cups. Oh all the feels it brings of your youth!

26. The Grasshopper

Another establishment, just off the Key. This pulls at the heart strings of us, as it’s the only other national location, other than the original from my hometown. Easy served Mexican fare here, with unique chips, salsa, and queso that can immediately hit your table as you arrive. You may get confused on the colors of the sauce they offer to your tacos and burritos, but just ask your server for clarity and enjoy.

27. Columbia

Located in St. Armand’s Circle (a drive from Siesta Key as well), this is a classic Cuban restaurant.  Everything done as authentic as can be, starting with the Cuban Bread for the table.  Must then transition to the Black Bean soup, and the 1905 Original Salad.  Then throw a dart for your main, because wherever it lands, will be golden.  Incredible drink menu too, enjoy the libations and all the lively atmosphere this place brings.
